Statement of Faith
Divinity Christian Church
Believes that all Scripture is the inspired Word of God, and is the Divine
authority on all matters of doctrine, faith, and conduct.
Believes that there is one God, eternally and simultaneously revealing Himself, in
the Love of the Father, in the Grace of the Son, Jesus Christ, and in the
fellowship of the Holy Spirit. We believe each is co-equal, co-powerful, and
co-eternal with each other, and each person, The Father, The Son, and The
Holy Spirit are not the other, and that all three comprise the one true God.
Believes in God the Father, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, measureless
in power. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men,
that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all
who come to Him through Christ.
Believes in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy
Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary, and that He is Both Divine and human, He
is completely God and was completely man.
Believes in the Holy Spirit, in His personality and deity, that He was sent forth
from the Father to convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of
judgement. We believe He is to regenerate, indwell, sanctify, instruct, and
comfort the saints.
Believes in the atoning death of Jesus Christ for the sins of the world, in His
bodily resurrection, His ascension to Heaven to take His place at the right hand
side of the Father to make intercessions for man, His personal and visible future
return to the world in power and glory, and that salvation is recieved only
through confession to and faith in Him.
Believes in the resurrection of the dead in Christ, and that their bodies will be
raised and fashioned like unto the glorious body of Christ, when they will be
fitted for eternal life, and the bodies of the wicked will be raised unto everlasting
death.
Believes that the Church is the living spiritual body of which Jesus Christ is the
Head and which all regenerated persons are members. We believe that the
Lord laid upon the Church the task of persuading the lost and sinful world to
accept Jesus Christ as Saviour and enthrone Him as Lord and Master in their
lives. We believe that the Church, no matter where it meets, is a body of
believers associated for worship, ministry, teaching, fellowship, service, and the
spread of the Gospel.
Believes that baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, in the name of the
Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, representing the death and
resurrection of Christ, and in the belief of the believer, death to sin and
resurrection to a newness of life in Christ.
Believes in all gifts of the Holy Spirit and that all Christians are ordained by the
Holy Spirit to serve as evangelist, and minister to others according to the gifts
they have recieved of the Holy Spirit.
Believes that the Love of Our Lord Jesus Christ is the greatest gift of God the
Father and His Holy Spirit, and should be the primary message of the Christian
Church, taking precedence over all differences, whether they be theological,
denominational, ideological, or physical in nature.
